Climate

 

Due to the extension of the territory, this place presents important climate variations. That is why everyone who visits the place has to be prepared wether is summer or winter.

 

All the coastline of the territory presents a rainy template climate with frosts in the winter and some rainfall in shape of snow. In the valleys and interior plateau the climate is cold template having less rainfall.

 

In the mountain area, appears the microclimate, extreme temperatures. Very high and dry in summer and in winter the temperatures reaches below 0ºC from April to beginning of November.

 

Is important to consider that in this zone sun radiation is very high, so, is not only advisable but necessary to use sunblock to avoid the damages in the skin.

 

Is also important to reassure that the rainfall in the Chaitén commune are quite abundant decreasing in summer months, from December to March. Its temperatures never passes below 0ºC.

 

For all the reasons given, is why the visitor has to be prepared for everything in any time of the year. Prepared for the rain, cold and heat. For the sun radiation and the frosts.
