How to get thereTo arrive at Futaleufú is already an adventure, due to the complexity of its access. There are different ways of arriving at this place and in all of them you can get amazed by the natural attractions of the southern territory. If you decide to fly from the airport El Tepual or from the airdrome La Paloma, in Puerto Montt you can catch a plane to Chaitén which takes 45 minutes approximately. There are public buses that transfer passengers to Futaleufú. The journey take around three hours. If the option is getting there by sailing, there are available for the tourists the catamaran in which you can also transfer vehicles. From Puerto Montt to Chaitén, the Catamaran takes four hours, on the ferry the journey takes 10 hours. Then from Chaitén is the option of the public bus or in case of having vehicle transportation there are 155 km to Futaleufú aproximately. The ferry leaves at Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. The company of the Catamaran is Aysén Express and of the ferries are TransMarChile and Navimag. At last if you decide to travel by land, you must take the route 215, the road that goes from Osorno to Argentna through Entre Lagos. Cross the international path Cardenal Samoré and continue towards the south of Bariloche until arriving at Esquel, continue to Trevelín until arriving at the international path Futaleufú bording the National Reserve Futaleufú, from there are only 10 km to arrive at the destiny. This journey is possible to be done in own vehicle or public transportation from Osorno or Puerto Montt. |
