How to get there

The territory of Cochamó is only 90 km from Puerto Varas to south east. Thanks to its geography, the roads border lakes, rivers, streams, estuaries and shows unique landscapes to the world.

To get to Cochamó from Argentina, there are two frontier paths (Path Río Manso and path Río Puelo), which are available during the whole year, however, you can only acceed to them walking, horsebak riding or sailing. Is an attractive instance for an adventure.

Is also possible to arrive there on car from Puerto Varas, by taking the route 55 towards Ensenada and then the rout 33 towards Ralún, from there starts an interesting journey in one of the roads of the famous Carretera Austral, 17km after crossing the Petrohué bridge you will arrive at Cochamó. 28 km further will be arriving at Puelo.

There are regular buses that do this route everyday, thus is not a problem to arrive at Cochamó through this route.

Besides, there are other attractive routes which you can arrive at Cochamó; like instead of taking the road to Ralún, take the route that leads to Canutillar, by this dirt road you can arrive at the Chapo Lake.

Also there are buses from Puerto Montt that have departures everyday.

Any of the vias and routes that you choose to arrive at Cochamó are possible, since it counts with daily buses,ferrys, rafts and modern bridges.
